When planning your travel to Mongolia for a short tours and trips, Nomadic Journeys offers day tours and excursion in and out of Ulaanbaatar city and offers a short stay in eco friendly Mongolian yurt (ger) camps in various regions and destinations..

To accommodate your travel in Mongolia, Nomadic Journeys and its local partners have developed low impact eco-friendly Mongolian yurt (ger) camps that are small and intimate and operates short self-guided trips as well as private tours that includes activities at the yurt (ger) camps. Activities at the yurt (ger) camps include horse riding or camel riding depending on the region, kayak or rafting among the river, mountain biking, riverside ger sauna, visiting the local nomad family and many more. Currently there are three such yurt (ger) camps in Mongolia and more are in the loop to be put into service. They all share the common characteristics of being small enough to avoid noisy generators. Rather they are powered by wind generators and solar panels.

They have a maximum of 14 to 15 Mongolian yurts (gers) including a family yurt (ger). The main drawback being that is sometimes hard to get a reservation to these camps. The Mongolian yurts / gers have candles rather than electrical bulbs. The standard is double occupancy with a guaranteed single occupancy, if requested in advance. All camps are operated by Nomadic Journeys field staffs and local nomads, whom are your local hosts.

  • Living the mongolian way

Great place to stay and experience mongolian way of living, no tv, wifi, phone. Just nature and great company of the staff and livestocks of mongolia. The toilet is a hole in the ground covered by a shed. It is clean, but can be smelly to those used to city life. Not hot water supply, inform the staff that you like to hot water half an hour earlier so that they can boil it over camel dung 🙂
