Activities at the yurt (ger) camps include horse riding or camel riding depending on the region, kayak or rafting among the river, mountain biking, riverside ger sauna, visiting the local nomad family and many more. Currently there are three such yurt (ger) camps in Mongolia and more are in the loop to be put into service. They all share the common characteristics of being small enough to avoid noisy generators. Rather they are powered by wind generators and solar panels.
They have a maximum of 14 to 15 Mongolian yurts (gers) including a family yurt (ger). The main drawback being that is sometimes hard to get a reservation to these camps. The Mongolian yurts / gers have candles rather than electrical bulbs. The standard is double occupancy with a guaranteed single occupancy, if requested in advance. All camps are operated by Nomadic Journeys field staffs and local nomads, whom are your local hosts.
