Nomadic Journeys have a long experience working with TV film teams and reporters who need to cover topics in Mongolia. Jalman Meadows is an excellent place to unwind between trips and to gather basic information and read up on matters in our Mongolica library. Our Photo Gallery contains copyrighted photos from professional photographers. You may purchase these by direct contact with any of them. You may find their contact details at: HAROLDO CASTRO www.haroldocastro.com is a Brazilian travel photographer and writer, as well as the founder of the Center of Travelology (www.travelology.net) He was born in Italy, raised in Brazil, studied in France and lived for two decades in Washington, DC, where he worked as VP for Communications of Conservation International. He is a keen conservationist. Haroldo traveled with us for four weeks in 2007 and his articles and travel blog are a prime example of how photogenic Mongolia is. View his Mongolian photo gallery at www.photoshelter.com/user/haroldocastro and the Portuguese language blog for June 2007 at http://colunas.epoca.globo.com/viajologia/2007/06/ and July 2007 at http://colunas.epoca.globo.com/viajologia/2007/07/. CLAES GRUNDSTEN: www.fotograf-grundsten.se is a Swedish national and one of the foremost nature photographers in Scandinavia. Claes is well traveled and has done coffee table books on world heritage and treks worldwide. In his galleries you will find a lot of photos from mountains. Claes travelled with us to some remote parts of Mongolia. He pioneered as a trek leader of our Altai Trek. He was surrounded by howling wolves in Uvs area when visiting the WWF anti-poaching team and he completed the pack-horse ride to Hagiin Har Nuur, deep in the Khan Khentii taiga. FELIX OPPENHEIM: www.felixoppenheim.com Felix is a Swedish national and specialist in outdoor photography and sports. Felix traveled with us to Lake Hövsgöl on a ice skating expedition, and also covered the camel Trophy car race prior to this. MATTIAS KLUM: www.klum.se is a conservationist and all round photographer who came out of nature photography. He is a Swedish national and a regular photographer for The National Geographic Magazine of the USA. Mattias traveled to Mongolia with senior writer Priit Vesilind to make the book Horse People. An excellent example of just how much there is to photograph just by covering the activities of one horse trainer family, near Arburd Sands. None of Mattias photos are on view at our Photo Gallery. FREDRIK STRÄNG: www.strang.se is primarily a mountain climber and nature photographer. Fredrik traveled to Mongolia and joined Ola Skinnarmo on a TV filmed expedition to the headwaters of the Onon River. They arrived with collapsible canoes and Nomadic Journeys assisted in local logistics to source pack-horses and local trailfinders to bring the expedition to the headwaters. This is the source of the Amur River, which empties into the Pacific Ocean, which is the longest free-flowing river in Eurasia. They paddled, fished and photographed. Fredrik completed climbing the Seven Summits (the highest mountain on each of the world's continents, including Antartica) in a mere seven months, which earned him a world record recognized by Guinness. JAN WIGSTEN; co-founded of Nomadic Journeys in 1993. He is not a professional photographer, but can be found at Nomadic Journeys all the time. As is MARK JOHNSTAD, a native of Montana. Both have travelled exstensively over many years all over Mongolia, therefore the chances for good shots have been many. |
