Mongolian families frequently move, with all their equipment and gers, from one pasture to the other by using carts. Fuel is very scarce and the Mongols are reverting back to more economical and reliable ways of moving their mobile camps. The carts are tied to whatever animals available in the region. We will use yaks and horses in the northern Hangai areas, whereas in the Gobi areas we use camels and horses. The services of some herdsmen will be hired for the expedition, and they will provide us with animals and their services. Some of these herdsmen have never dealt directly with foreigners before, so we have adopted our needs to their capabilities.
