Jalman Meadows Ger Camp s located 120km northeast of Ulaanbaatar. It is a 3-3½ hours exciting drive there, of which 1 hour is on the tarmac road. Thereafter all telegraph poles disappear, and you arrive in the Upper Tuul River Valley at Jalman Mountain and its meadows below. It is in the Khan Khentii Special Protected Area, which is a wilderness three times the size of Yellowstone. Along the Tuul River there are several meadows and the surrounding hills hold larch forests and birch. Steppe eagles are common here. The camp is located on a upland overlooking the river. Later in the summer the temperatures of the river is very good for swimming. The camp has a small library with Mongolian topics in several languages. There are rafts at camp, and it is possible to raft the Tuul River from here. Frequenty we load the deflated rafts onto yak carts and trek upstream half a day and then raft back to camp. Horse riding is an integral feature of this camp. If you want to ride or hike, just order a picnic the day before and get lost in the hills for the day. There are also some mountain bikes at camp. Jalman Meadows is very popular with families as well. Our yak treks start out from here and we usually bring your luggage to your ger by yak cart. Trips offered at this camp:
